The World Oil Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Houstonian Hotel in Houston, Texas . The dinner is a black-tie gala celebration for the energy industry. There is a reception followed by a seated dinner and Awards Ceremony.

This year's theme will focus on the future of the industry. The Finalists of the 2008 World Oil Awards will be recognized, and the Awards Ceremony will culminate with the announcement of the 2008 Winners.

The Dinner also serves to raise funds for leading universities that provide education for careers in the petroleum industry, reflective of the World Oil Awards' goal to attract a new generation of talent to the industry.

Finalists in each of the 13 award categories will also be recognized at the World Oil Awards.

The Dinner has traditionally sold out. Therefore, companies are encouraged to reserve a table soon for the October 16, 2008, black-tie affair. Early-bird rates will be available until July 18, 2008. A special rate is available for prior winners. Please contact awards@worldoil.com for information.
